WHAT WE DO

Navigating today’s complex and evolving financial landscape requires comprehensive expertise across areas such as tax strategy, estate preservation, and investment planning. At our firm, we take a collaborative, team-based approach—working closely with accountants and other trusted professionals—to help pursue the most favorable outcomes for our clients. As independent advisors, we provide objective guidance and maintain no ownership interest in any of the products we may recommend, ensuring our advice is always aligned with our clients’ best interests.

Our advisory relationship is fiduciary in nature, meaning we are required to put your interests first when providing investment advice. We act with care, loyalty, and transparency in our recommendations. If potential conflicts of interest arise, we disclose them clearly so you can make informed decisions about our advice and services.

We are committed to protecting your personal information. Client data is stored securely and used only to provide advisory services, maintain accounts, and meet legal or regulatory obligations. We do not sell client information. Information is shared only with trusted service providers, custodians, or as required by law, and only for authorized business purposes.

WHO WE SERVE

At Coleman Capital, we specialize in serving government employees and bring deep expertise in retirement systems including CSRS, FERS, and Colorado PERA. Whether you’re planning for retirement, funding education, improving your home, traveling, or pursuing other personal goals, we are committed to helping you build a financial strategy tailored to your needs. We take the time to understand your priorities and collaborate with you to develop a plan that aligns with your objectives. Our goal is to help you identify meaningful opportunities while safeguarding the assets that matter most.

That’s why now, more than ever, you need a plan.

Federal and State Employees

Federal and state employees face a unique set of challenges and opportunities when it comes to retirement planning, due to the complexity of their benefits packages. Partnering with an advisor who specializes in these programs is essential to making informed decisions and optimizing your long-term financial strategy. At Coleman Capital, we have extensive experience with retirement systems such as TTRS, Colorado PERA, CSRS, and FERS. We provide guidance on properly allocating assets within the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and 403(b) accounts, evaluating Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) options, and understanding benefits like the Special Retirement Supplement (SRS). Our goal is to help you build an integrated and comprehensive financial plan that makes the most of your available resources and supports a confident transition into retirement.

Federal and State Employees

Federal and state employees have distinct and complex retirement income benefits packages. Working with someone who understands and focuses on these programs/benefits is crucial to successfully plan for your retirement. Whether you need help navigating TTRS, PERA, CSRS, or FERS, allocating your TSP or 403(b), determining what FEGLI options are right for you, or calculating your Special Retirement Supplement (SRS) “bridge” payment, Coleman Capital has extensive experience and knowledge of these programs to help create a cohesive plan that incorporates all of your available options.

MY NAME IS PETER COLEMAN, AND I’M A RECOVERING ATTORNEY.

Peter J. Coleman              Juris Doctor (JD)            Chartered Federal  Employee Benefits  Consultant℠ (ChFEBC℠)

I graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1991, but it turns out the primary purpose of attending was to meet my amazing wife. She was working for the FBI at the time, and we have been married since 1992. I started my legal practice that same year, but later came across a book about alternative career paths for attorneys called “Running from the Law.” One of the options was financial advising. In 1996, I started a financial advisory practice and continued to run my legal practice simultaneously until 2002, when I chose to focus exclusively on providing financial advice.

I love what I do and am personally invested. I’m married to a government employee with the same federal retirement options as you, and I know the federal system inside and out. You can trust me to help you navigate the complexities of your situation and identify the best options to achieve your goals.

I grew up in Boston. My wife and I reside in the small town of Evergreen, Colorado, a beautiful community located in Rocky Mountains. We have two boys, Mickey and Paddy. When I am not working with clients, I’m likely enjoying the outdoors with my family, attending sporting events, skiing, woodworking, gardening, cooking, or reading a great book.
